Turfgrass · Sheep Fescue
Festuca ovina

Technical Properties
CultivarBornito
Compared with the other fescue species, Festuca ovina is adapted to dry climates and resistant to disease. The species' most important trait is its tolerance of shade. Its fertiliser requirement is lower than the others. Fine, long, pointed leaves and a dark colour characterise this variety, which gives better results when sown in autumn.
This variety has proven its worth as a standard sheep fescue with a dark blue-green colour. Even with inadequate care and fertilisation it provides a dense sward. Thanks to intensive root development it withstands prolonged drought and helps prevent erosion.
